We're ready for our close up Mr. Demille

As Gary mentioned, last night we brought a little Hollywood to the California's Best camp in preparation for the cars' departure for Phoenix, Laredo and ultimately the starting line of the La Carrera in Oaxaca, Mexico.

Our filmmaker Steffan Schulz, who's been documenting much of our preparation to date and will be accompanying us for the duration of the race up from Oaxaca, brought out the big guns for a final pre-race shoot at the shop last night. This is how you do it when you want it to look really good. HD, at night, under the lights. Steffan knows his craft, and brought the best talent beer and pizza can buy to make this happen.

We transformed the shop lot into a full set, complete with classic hotrods, low-riders and of course, the one and only Lucky - all dressed up for her coming out party.

In true California's Best fashion, the entire crew stayed way past quitting time to help out, and play a supporting role in the video. Guys, you are the best, and NONE of this could have happened without the support of each and every one of you. You have no idea how much we appreciate it.

Finally, a HUGE thanks to our families, for it is they who have put up with the conspicuous absence of their husbands and fathers during this entire process, and will continue to do so throughout the next 3 weeks as we bring the dream to life. Without their unwavering support and encouragement, we would have never made this into a reality. At the end of the day life is all about doing what makes you happy, and if this picture is any indication of how happy we are about this adventure, then life is very good. We are truly living out our dreams.

From the bottom of our hearts, THANKS!!!

Damn, is that guy on the left hot or what! LOL. Today as we came into Palm Springs there was a terrible sand storm,so bad in fact we are watching the news in our hotel and they are reporting several deaths and dozens of injuries. It was really bad with 60 mile per hour winds and major sand but it appears we made it thru barely in time. There were two open trailerscarrying beautiful 32 Ford roadsters and as they passed we could see the concerned worry on their faces. It sure made me happy that some SOB stole my trailer. What's that old saying, "There's a silver lining in every cloud."

After we got past Palm Springs and the dust storm we had the help of that nasty wind as it literally pushed us toward Phoenix. The gas mileage was increased substantially.

The weather here in Phoenix is perfect short sleeve weather and now it's time for a dip in the pool.

Great shots guys, you look like stars! Lucky is the hot looking one though!

Crazy storm! We are fortunate that we don't get that sort of nonsense here in Ontario.
